Winter!
Well, Winter is upon us and it is nice to have the fire burning!Just waiting for the tally ho to be delivered and the Christmas decorations to go up ( not too tacky this year!)Some staff leaving for a season in Austria and new people have joined us but the Nellie remains unchanged! We hope to see you soon!

EADT SUFFOLK MAGAZINE FOOD AND DRINK AWARDS.
So the latest news is that we have been shortlisted by readers of the EADT and Suffolk magazine as best food pub in suffolk! We do pride ourselves on using as much local produce as possible whilst trying to keep the dishes simple.
It is fantastic as we haven't entered ourselves, we have been nominated by the readers, so thank you to all who have voted thus far and thank you to all of those who will do !

COAST AWARDS 2011
The annual Coast Awards celebrate the people and places that represent all that is innovative, valuable and exciting around the British coastline. This year’s ten categories include Best Boutique Hotel by the Sea, Best-Loved Pier, Best Green Marine Campaign, Unsung Coastal Hero and the Joules Award for Best Coastal Path.
Coast magazine was inundated with thousands of votes from across the UK and, searching for the very best Britain’s coast has to offer, a panel of seven experts – TV presenter Michaela Strachan, Director of The Twentieth Century Society Catherine Croft, Managing Director of Joules Tom Joule, Restaurateur, Fishmonger, Writer and Chef Mitch Tonks, Vice President, Sustainable Markets, SeaWeb Melanie Siggs, Travel Writer Christopher Somerville and Director of Strategy and Communications at VisitBritain Patricia Yates – joined Coast Editor Clare Gogerty to sift through scores of nominees and decide eight of the ten category winners and runners-up.
TV presenter Michaela Strachan awarded the winners and runners-up their prizes at the Coast Awards 2011 ceremony, which was held yesterday at the Country Living Fair in London.

Best Coastal Pub/Café
WINNER: East Beach Café in Littlehampton, West Sussex
RUNNERS-UP: Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock, Dorset
The Lord Nelson in Southwold, Suffolk

Cellar completion!
Well the cellar work has finally been finished so we are back to stocking the full range of Adnams beers! On tap at the moment is- Bitter, Broadside, Explorer,Old Ale and Oyster stout! All of which taste delicous!

New year
Thanks to all whom have supported the Nellie over the last year and we hope to see you all again soon.
We are updating our cellar over the coming weeks, please accept our apologies as we will not be able to stock the full adnams range as usual but what we will be stocking will of course be of the highest quality!
Happy new year to you all.
We would just like to say thanks to the forces boys and girls who visited from Cornwall over the christmas and new year period for the company and kind feedback on the Nelson.
